On a week that saw Meta release AI avatars for celebs like Kendall Jenner and Tom Brady, I kicked the tires on HeyGen’s avatar creation and.. well

Neither my wife nor friends could tell it was fake.

Let’s put all the scary social issues aside for a moment to consider the question: How long until everyone opts-into creating an AI version of themselves?

There’s tremendous value in showing your face on video. It enables a connection that people don’t otherwise get. But what if the fake version is indistinguishable from the real thing?
